The Port provides multimodal facilities, including quayside access and a rail line adjacent to the port which could be reconnected to the port facilities. Abp has invested significantly in the port over the past few years, modernising infrastructure to supply customers with specialist storage solutions and handling equipment. Existing occupiers on the Port include Scottish Power, sse, Windcat Workboats, Peterson, Sembmarine slp and Caudwell Marine.

The port handles a range of bulk materials, including grain and cement. The port's Inner and Outer Harbours accommodate project and specialised cargoes and its North Quay Terminal provides mobile cranage, together with 16,000 sq m of storage for forest products, steel, and general cargo. Heavy lift facilities can be accommodated.
